A journey of continuous innovation
In recent years, Degano Primo has embarked on a major programme of technological modernisation. Thanks to Industry 4.0 and 5.0 technologies, the company has gradually updated its machinery, investing each year in the modernisation of its facilities.
Today, the production department is equipped with a fibre laser cutting system with a seven-storey automated storage system, three press brakes tailored to different production requirements, a double-gauge press brake, and additional equipment for complementary processes and finishing.
Transformation also depends on people
For Degano Primo, innovation is not solely about technology. Alongside its investment in machinery, the company has launched a major skills development programme, setting up an in-house Academy and partnering with Adecco to encourage young professionals to join the company.
Through two in-house training programmes, 20 young people were involved, of whom 6 were selected and 4 were taken on as permanent staff following a 24-month training programme.
How the partnership with Libellula came about
The partnership with Libellula began with the company’s first Industry 4.0 investment. The need to integrate and interconnect the new systems led Degano Primo to seek a partner capable of supporting its digitalisation journey and the interconnection of machinery, software and production processes.
Since that first project, all the Industry 4.0 investments made by the company have been developed with the support of Libellula.
A data-driven project
The main objective of the project was the retrieval, monitoring and analysis of production data. The collaboration with Libellula supported the company in developing its data collection systems and setting up the processes required to integrate information from the production floor.
This is an ongoing process, aimed at achieving an increasingly accurate interpretation of company data and at effectively measuring the results generated by the investments made.
